Just a Question Mark

A single `؟` gets misread all the time.

Some reps see it and hear attitude. Some hear boredom. Some take it personally because they think the buyer is asking them to repeat something that was already obvious.

Most of the time, it is less dramatic than that.

It usually means the last message was carrying too much at once, or using shorthand that made sense on the rep’s side of the desk but not on the buyer’s screen. WhatsApp does not give you much room for confusion. When a lead is busy, half-reading, or opening the thread between errands, the fastest honest reply is often just one mark: `؟`

One late-night thread showed the difference.

11:41 PM `معايا option في جنوب الاكاديمية` `155م semi finished` `down 15%` `8 years` `delivery 18 months` `بجوار شارع التسعين من ناحية النادي`

11:42 PM The lead answered:

`؟`

That reply looks tiny, but it carries a useful diagnosis. _The message did not land._ Not because the buyer was rude. Not because the offer was bad. Because six separate facts arrived in one push, half in property shorthand, half in rep rhythm.

A nervous rep usually makes it worse here. He starts defending the first message. Or repeats the same details with slightly different wording. Or asks the buyer what exactly was unclear, which quietly forces him to do extra work just to continue.

NEO took the lighter route.

11:43 PM `قصدي باختصار` `عندي شقة 155م في جنوب الأكاديمية` `تقسيط 8 سنين` `ولو تحب أقولك السعر الأول ولا المكان الأول؟`

That last line did the important work.

It did not make the lead feel careless. It did not say, in effect, you failed to understand me. It replaced a crowded paragraph with _one clean fork_. Price first, or location first. Easy enough to answer while standing in a hallway, sitting in traffic, or half-awake before sleep.

11:44 PM The lead came back immediately:

`المكان الأول`

There was the turn.

Not a speech about clarity. Not an apology for the question mark. Real buyers usually do not explain the misunderstanding. They reveal themselves by the next thing they ask for.

11:45 PM `قريبة من ايه بالظبط؟`

11:46 PM `قريبة من التسعين الجنوبي` `ولو مناسب ابعتلك pin`

11:47 PM `ابعتلي اللوكيشن`

That is what NEO does with `؟`.

No bruised ego. No lesson about manners. Just a quick assumption that the burden is on the sender, then a simpler restatement with fewer moving parts.

In Cairo real estate chats, confusion does not need a committee. Sometimes it just needs one shorter sentence, one clearer choice, and a rep calm enough not to treat a question mark like disrespect.
